National Hydrogen Alliance · Est. 2016

Malaysia's hydrogen economy, connected.

H2Malaysia is the national, industry-led alliance that links producers, storage, logistics and end-users across the hydrogen value chain — one platform, one voice, under the Hydrogen Economy & Technology Roadmap 2022–2050.

46 members. One national current.

Industry, government and research — moving from the HETR roadmap to commercialisation, together.

The hydrogen economy starts here.

Join the alliance shaping Malaysia's hydrogen future.

The Critical Challenge

Supply and demand, working in the dark.

The HETR identifies one challenge across the entire value chain: a lack of supply-and-demand awareness. Companies producing hydrogen do not see the efforts of companies who need it — and vice versa.

Supply side

Producers, storage specialists and infrastructure builders advance green hydrogen — without a clear view of who is ready to buy.

Demand side

Mobility operators, industry and power players plan hydrogen adoption — without a clear view of who can reliably supply.

Welcome Message

A shared national undertaking.

Hydrogen Malaysia exists to bring the nation's hydrogen ambitions into one room — producers and off-takers, policymakers and researchers, Peninsular and East Malaysia. Our task is practical: turn the direction set by HETR and NETR into projects, standards and jobs.

To every member and partner joining us on this agenda — selamat datang. The work is national, and it belongs to all of us.

Chairman, H2Malaysia

What We Connect

One alliance joins the value chain, deliberately.

H2Malaysia acts as the national aggregator: production, storage, logistics and end-use — connected through one alliance so efforts on both ends are known to each other.

Water to Power

From one drop, a clean current.

Electrolysis splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. Clean electricity in, clean molecules out — energy Malaysia can store, move and export.

The National Grid

Twelve hubs, one national grid.

From George Town to Kota Kinabalu, the alliance links Malaysia's hydrogen hubs into a single national grid — every region feeding one backbone that converges on Kuala Lumpur.

The Real Machine

Not a concept. A working industry.

Fuel-cell vehicles, mobile refuelling and electrolyser pilots are already running in Malaysian conditions — engineered, tested and operated by alliance members.

HETR · 2022–2050

From grey to green, by design.

Malaysia's Hydrogen Economy & Technology Roadmap phases the transition — “Build Some, Buy Some” — from fossil-derived hydrogen today to a green hydrogen economy by 2050.

  1. 2022–2030

    Short term

Grey hydrogen from existing industry while policies, incentives and standards take shape.

  2. 2031–2040

    Mid term

Production and distribution infrastructure scales; renewables begin to power green hydrogen.

  3. 2041–2050

    Long term

A low-carbon hydrogen economy at LCOH of USD 1/kg, targeting 15% emissions reduction by 2050.
